Tx Network Product Manager

About the role

This hands‑on technical presales position is focused on optical transport networks. You will work directly with Tier‑1 mobile operator engineering leads and CTO offices in Zambia, shaping high‑capacity DWDM, OTN and IP backhaul roadmaps.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full technical presales cycle for optical transmission (DWDM, OTN, SDH) and IP transport solutions for telecom operators and large enterprise clients.
• Lead end‑to‑end technical responses for operator RFXs, including fiber link budgeting, network dimensioning, BOM creation and pricing strategy.
• Conduct technical workshops, deep‑dives and proof‑of‑concept trials with network planning and engineering teams.
• Identify network bottlenecks and propose expansion or modernization opportunities before tenders are issued.
• Monitor competing optical transport vendors to maintain a technical and commercial advantage.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• At least 5 years of experience in presales, network architecture or product management focused on optical transmission and IP transport.
• Proven experience defending technical bids and participating in operator tenders within the Zambian telecom market.
• Strong presentation skills that translate deep engineering details into commercial outcomes.
