Transmission Network Product Manager

About the role

Huawei Zambia is seeking an experienced Transmission Network Product Manager to lead market positioning, solution sales and commercial growth of DWDM/IP and optical transport offerings across Zambia and the wider Southern‑African region. You will act as the bridge between cutting‑edge optical technologies and telecom operators, helping clients build cost‑effective, future‑ready transmission infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute market positioning strategies for DWDM/IP, OTN and SDN solutions.
• Engage telecom operators, ICT providers and system integrators to align technical capabilities with business needs.
• Lead end‑to‑end bid processes, RFX management and commercial/technical negotiations.
• Conduct customer workshops, product demos and strategic solution presentations for decision‑makers.
• Develop ROI models, business cases and investment frameworks to support solution adoption.
• Drive OTN premium private line business development, including market insights, network planning and branding.
• Collaborate with solution architects, regional product leads and delivery teams to ensure successful implementation and high customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, IT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transmission network solution engineering, architecture or product sales.
• Proven track record of direct engagement with telecom operators, network planning and procurement units.
• Strong understanding of type‑approval procedures, deployment strategies and network architecture design.
• Ability to build strategic business cases and navigate complex deal structures.
• Professional certifications in DWDM/IP, OTN or SDN are a plus.
• Willingness to travel across the region as required.
