Telecom IT Engineer – Onsite (Zambia)

About the role

We are looking for a versatile Telecom IT Engineer to join our team on‑site in Zambia. You will be responsible for maintaining high availability of telecom platforms across BSS, CS and VAS domains, handling incidents, and supporting end‑to‑end service flows.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of telecom systems, ensuring stability, performance and SLA compliance.
• Provide first and second line support, troubleshoot service degradations, call failures and platform incidents.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, coordinate with vendors, network and application teams, and implement corrective actions.
• Support integration between HLR/HSS, SMSC, OCS, billing, CRM and provisioning systems; monitor and troubleshoot SOAP, REST, Diameter, FTP and MQ interfaces.
• Assist with service activation, deactivation and modification workflows, and verify provisioning consistency.
• Use monitoring tools to track performance, identify bottlenecks and contribute to capacity planning and optimization.
• Participate in change, release and configuration management, validating system behavior after upgrades.
• Handle telecom data flows such as CDRs, charging events and signaling records to ensure accurate processing.

Required profile

• Strong experience in telecom environments, particularly BSS, CS and VAS.
• Proven ability to work under pressure during production incidents and on‑call rotations.
• Solid understanding of telecom architecture, service flows and end‑to‑end system dependencies.
