Driver – Field Office Transportation

About the role

Action Against Hunger is seeking a reliable Driver to provide transportation services for its field office in Mantapala, Luapula Province. The role ensures safe, efficient movement of staff, visitors, cargo and parcels while maintaining vehicle readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Drive program vehicles as directed, adhering to traffic rules and road discipline.
• Transport staff, visitors and cargo safely over short and long distances.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections, checking oil, fuel, brakes, lights, windshield wipers, tire pressures and reporting any issues.
• Maintain up‑to‑date vehicle documentation, including insurance and road licence.
• Keep maintenance records, schedule services and remind supervisors of upcoming service dates.
• Carry out minor vehicle repairs, change tires, refuel and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
• Deliver parcels, letters and other items to offices and businesses as required.
• Report accidents, incidents or vehicle defects promptly and complete necessary forms.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence and Advanced Driving Certificate.
• Ability to follow instructions from the coordinator and supervisor.
• Commitment to vehicle safety, road discipline and proper documentation.
• Willingness to work onsite at the Mantapala field office.
