Logistics Officer

About the role

The Logistics Officer will coordinate the safe, timely and cost‑effective movement of products and related materials across d.light Zambia’s warehouses and stocking locations. You will own day‑to‑day shipment tracking, dispatch coordination, transport documentation and proof‑of‑delivery closure while ensuring all movements are authorized, traceable and properly documented.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound logistics, receiving, and off‑loading, reporting any shortages, damages or discrepancies.
• Manage dispatch and distribution, overseeing stock transfers, route planning, shipment tracking and proof‑of‑delivery processes.
• Maintain transporter and vendor relationships, handling quotations, performance monitoring, documentation and invoice verification.
• Control inventory movements to align physical stock with system transactions, ensuring accurate records and product traceability.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, licensing and product‑handling requirements during loading and transportation.
• Track logistics performance, prepare regular reports on delivery performance, costs, PODs and exceptions, and identify improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in logistics, distribution, transport coordination, warehouse operations or supply‑chain execution.
• Experience in multi‑location, last‑mile distribution or sectors such as consumer durables, solar, FMCG or telecommunications is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of inbound logistics, dispatch planning, route coordination, reverse logistics and transporter administration.
• Understanding of stock‑movement controls, serialized inventory and separation of custody, transaction processing and approval responsibilities.
