Mobile Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Mobile Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance of Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) at Lumwana Mining Company, reporting to the Engineering Manager. The role focuses on achieving equipment performance targets, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring safety and reliability across the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance strategies for all HME classes.
• Lead reliability initiatives to increase MTBF, reduce MTTR, and maximize equipment availability.
• Champion Root Cause Analysis investigations and ensure corrective actions are applied.
• Oversee condition monitoring programs, including oil analysis, vibration analysis, and thermography.
• Benchmark fleet performance against OEM standards and industry best practices.
• Manage maintenance planning, work order prioritisation, resource allocation, parts availability and backlog.
• Coordinate with Operations to align maintenance windows with production schedules.
• Maintain accurate equipment history and failure coding in the CMMS (e.g., SAP).
• Develop and report on the annual mobile maintenance budget and support capital planning for fleet replacement.
• Manage relationships with OEMs, third‑party service providers and field service representatives.
• Implement safe work procedures and promote a strong safety culture.
• Manage workforce capacity, shift rosters, training, succession planning and performance reviews.
