Remote Medical Coder (US/UK)

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Remote Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will apply US or UK coding standards to complex patient records, ensuring accurate reimbursement and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyze inpatient and outpatient medical records, assigning appropriate ICD‑10, CPT, HCPCS, OPCS‑4, or SNOMED CT codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal, state, NHS, and payer guidelines.
• Identify documentation gaps and query clinicians for clarification.
• Correct coding errors, resolve claim denials, and support revenue cycle optimization.
• Maintain data integrity through audits and quality checks.
• Stay current with coding guideline updates and compliance regulations.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hospital coding experience (inpatient or outpatient) in the US or UK.
• Active certification from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CCS, CIC, COC) or equivalent UK credential.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
• Proficiency with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, EMIS Web, or SystmOne.
• Reliable computer (Windows 10/11 or macOS 12+), high‑speed internet, and a verified backup power supply.
