Supply Chain & Operations Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Supply Chain & Operations Manager to lead the end‑to‑end supply chain and operational support services for Yara Fertilizer Zambia Limited. Based in Lusaka, the role will ensure product availability, optimise logistics, and drive cost‑effective delivery across the Zambia Cluster.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement transportation policies, negotiate carrier contracts and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Oversee stock availability, inventory management, sales forecasting, procurement planning and product scheduling.
• Coordinate synergy between departments to align supply chain priorities with operational goals.
• Manage SAP ERP processes, monitor transaction accuracy and identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead local production requirements for blending and bagging, and supervise third‑party operations.
• Implement asset care and maintenance programmes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Optimize movement of goods from company facilities to customers, leveraging regional corridors in South Africa, Mozambique and Tanzania.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supply chain, logistics or operations management, preferably in the fertilizer or agricultural sector.
• Strong understanding of inventory, procurement and distribution processes.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on efficiency.
