Technology Field Technician

About the role

The Technology Field Technician provides on‑site support for all IT and payment systems across Pedros restaurant locations in Zambia. Reporting to the General Operations Manager, the role ensures that point‑of‑sale, payment terminals and related hardware remain operational to avoid any disruption to restaurant trading.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for in‑store IT equipment such as terminals, printers, cash drawers, networking devices and peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults, escalating to vendors or head‑office when necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance, health checks and maintain an accurate asset register for all equipment.
• Manage spare‑parts and consumables inventory and report stock levels.
• Support Oracle Micros POS terminals, troubleshoot software errors, connectivity issues and peripheral failures, and assist with updates and patches.
• Support Transaction Junction payment terminals, resolve connectivity and transaction errors, and verify functionality after maintenance.
• Log, track and resolve technology support requests across the three platforms, maintaining clear records of configurations, software versions and open cases.
