Finance and Grants Officer

About the role

The Finance and Grants Officer will manage day‑to‑day financial transactions and budgets for Action Against Hunger Zambia, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies, donor guidelines, IFRS and Zambian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Prepare and submit timely accountancy bundles and budget financial updates (BFUs) to the Support Services Manager and program managers.
• Verify bankbooks, perform monthly bank reconciliations, and record commitments and recharges.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, internal controls, and donor requirements.
• Disseminate accounting procedures and budget methodologies to staff across Zambia and country offices.
• Support the senior management team with financial reporting and analysis.

Required profile

• Experience in financial management within a nonprofit or humanitarian organization.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, donor policies, and Zambian government financial regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program managers, logistics, and administration teams.
• High standards of integrity and accountability in resource utilization.
