About the role
The Finance and Grants Officer will manage daily financial transactions and budget execution for Action Against Hunger Zambia. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the role ensures accurate accounting, compliance with donor and internal policies, and supports program and logistics teams.
Key responsibilities
- Process day‑to‑day financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Prepare and submit accountancy bundles, budget forecasts and financial statements on time.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify bankbooks before the 5th of each month.
- Collaborate with Program Managers, logistics and administration teams to ensure compliance with procurement and budgeting procedures.
- Monitor commitments, recharges and analytical entries to guarantee correctness.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, IFRS standards and Zambian government regulations.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in finance, accounting or grants management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting and internal control policies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and communicate financial information clearly.
- Attention to detail and high integrity in handling organizational resources.
Required skills
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
