Tax Supervisor

About the role

The Tax Supervisor will lead the company’s tax function, ensuring full‑cycle tax declarations, accurate account reconciliation, and timely payment of statutory taxes and social contributions. The role involves close interaction with local tax authorities, social security agencies, auditors, and banks to maintain compliance and financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate monthly financial reports.
• Manage overall company tax compliance, reconciling system data with tax declarations.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly VAT, withholding tax, and other tax reconciliations.
• File and pay statutory taxes and social contributions (VAT, Withholding Tax, NAPSA, NHIMA) on time.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
• Review daily expense and salary payments for compliance and risk control.
• Train and guide accounting staff on bookkeeping, tax operations, and routine financial work.
• Assist management with internal financial administration and external tax liaison.
• Support external audit firms by providing complete financial documentation.
• Execute additional financial and tax tasks as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of comprehensive financial and tax management experience in the manufacturing sector.
• Strong written and spoken English for independent communication with government and audit bodies.
• Professional certifications such as ZICA, ACCA, or intermediate accountant are preferred.
• Familiarity with Zambian fiscal, tax, and compliance regulations is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with financial accounting software.
• Ability to operate tax declaration systems.
