Fleet Officer – Vehicle Management & Coordination

About the role

The Fleet Officer will oversee Abaleya’s vehicle fleet and driver team on a daily basis, ensuring smooth operations, compliance, and optimal performance. This role requires close collaboration with Operations and Customer Service to resolve any fleet‑related issues.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate vehicles and drivers, maintaining accurate records of assignments and fleet activities.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and ensure compliance with operational standards, servicing, insurance, and road tax requirements.
• Coordinate repairs, follow up with mechanics, and track vehicle utilization, mileage, fuel consumption, and overall performance.
• Identify and report faults, accidents, breakdowns, and other operational issues.
• Assist with driver and vehicle onboarding, and maintain fleet documentation.
• Prepare daily and weekly performance reports and conduct periodic field checks.
• Work closely with Operations and Customer Service teams to address fleet‑related concerns.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 Certificate; a diploma or degree in Fleet Management, Transport & Logistics, Business Administration, or related field is an advantage.
• Previous experience in fleet, transport, logistics, or vehicle operations is preferred.
• Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical issues.
• Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel for field inspections.
• Based in Lusaka.
