Technical Coach – Mechanical Backend

About the role

First Quantum is seeking a Mechanical Backend Technical Coach to develop and mentor artisans at the Kansanshi Process Plant. The role blends on‑the‑job coaching with formal training design to raise technical competence, quality standards, and efficiency across the engineering department.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑the‑job coaching and structured training modules for mechanical artisans.
• Assess skill gaps using observations and the FQM Proficiency Framework, then create targeted interventions.
• Identify high‑potential artisans and support their progression to senior positions.
• Act as an independent assessor for other First Quantum operations in Zambia when required.
• Champion safety, quality, and best practices on the shop floor.
• Record coaching activities and progress in the company’s learning management tools.
• Monitor and report on the impact of training initiatives.
