Biodiversity Finance Analyst – Public and Financial Sector

About the role

The Biodiversity Finance Analyst will support the implementation of Zambia's Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) by bridging public and private finance mechanisms to achieve nature‑positive outcomes. Working closely with the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment and the Ministry of Finance, the analyst will help operationalise the Biodiversity Finance Plan and the Green Finance Taxonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the rollout of priority finance solutions identified in the Biodiversity Finance Plan.
• Support the development and tagging of Zambia’s Green Finance Taxonomy and related reporting frameworks.
• Conduct analysis of public and private financing streams for biodiversity projects.
• Collaborate with government ministries, financial institutions, and UNDP partners to align policies and incentives.
• Prepare technical notes, policy briefs, and progress reports for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, economics, environmental studies).
• At least two years of professional experience in finance, public‑sector analysis, or biodiversity‑related projects.
• Fluency in English.
• Demonstrated understanding of biodiversity finance concepts and public‑private partnership mechanisms.
