Carbon Excellence Country Coordinator – Lusaka

About the role

The Carbon Excellence Country Coordinator will oversee the integrity, performance and verification readiness of BURN’s biomass carbon projects in Zambia. Based in Lusaka, the role drives a data‑driven Carbon Excellence framework that safeguards carbon issuance through robust monitoring, high‑quality operational data and proactive risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Own carbon performance across all biomass carbon projects in Zambia and track key integrity metrics such as customer reachability, stove‑to‑customer match accuracy, verified stove usage and sustained adoption.
• Identify early‑warning signals, conduct root‑cause analysis and provide structured performance and risk reports to senior leadership.
• Ensure distribution complies with carbon methodology eligibility criteria, monitor geographic targeting accuracy, sales and onboarding quality, and correct out‑of‑scope acquisitions.
• Partner with Customer Experience, Commercial and Product teams to improve customer satisfaction, product‑market fit and long‑term stove usage.
• Support implementation and validation of digital monitoring tools and field data collection systems, guaranteeing data completeness, consistency and traceability.
• Lead corrective actions and continuous process improvement to maintain market and carbon integrity.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing carbon or environmental projects with a focus on data‑driven monitoring and verification.
• Strong analytical skills to track performance metrics and assess risk.
• Ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams and communicate findings to leadership.
• Experience in overseeing distribution quality and ensuring compliance with methodology requirements.
