Construction Manager – Mining Site

About the role

The Construction Manager will lead the civil works department on a mining site, ensuring all construction projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves overseeing design, execution, and hand‑over of infrastructure while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop and maintain construction projects specific to the mining industry.
• Conduct on‑site investigations, analyse maps, reports, tests and drawings.
• Perform technical and feasibility studies and produce blueprints that meet specifications.
• Assess risks, prepare bills of quantities, and estimate material and cost requirements.
• Resolve emerging issues creatively and keep senior management informed.
• Mentor and supervise civil‑works staff, ensuring high performance.
• Liaise with chiefs, local councils, communities and government authorities.
• Monitor progress, compile status reports and manage project budgets.
• Procure equipment and materials in line with company guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with permits, safety regulations and deliver required technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Manager, preferably on exploration or mining sites.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large‑scale civil projects.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and reviewing engineering drawings.
