About the role
Action Against Hunger is seeking a reliable driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for staff, visitors, and program assets at its field office in Mantapala, Luapula Province. The role supports humanitarian operations by ensuring vehicles are well‑maintained and compliant with all regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Drive program vehicles as directed, adhering to traffic rules and road discipline.
- Transport staff, visitors, parcels, letters, and other items safely and on schedule.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, including oil, fuel, brakes, lights, wipers, tire pressure, and report any issues.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation such as insurance, road licence, and service records.
- Carry out minor repairs, change tires, refuel vehicles, and ensure vehicles are clean.
- Report accidents, incidents, or vehicle defects promptly and assist in planning regular maintenance.
- Ensure vehicles are used only for authorized official business.
Required profile
- Advanced Driving Certificate or equivalent professional driving qualification.
- Experience driving long‑distance routes with or without program staff.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Strong attention to detail for documentation and maintenance tracking.
