About the role
IDinsight is seeking a senior economist to lead its newly‑launched Cost‑Effectiveness Unit (CEU). The role blends rigorous economic analysis with practical change‑management to embed cost‑effectiveness thinking across partner organisations.
Key responsibilities
- Build and lead the CEU, developing service offerings such as cost‑effectiveness audits, lean intervention design, and tech‑enabled resource allocation.
- Identify and develop high‑impact opportunities with partners (e.g., NGOs, governments) and secure funding for cost‑effectiveness projects.
- Lead technical delivery, including cost‑effectiveness analyses, cost‑monitoring system design, and AI‑driven cost optimisation across multiple countries.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in economics, public policy or a related field (Master’s minimum; PhD preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in cost‑effectiveness or cost‑efficiency analysis within international development.
- Proven track record building cost‑analysis systems and translating economic evidence into operational decisions.
- Experience working with large implementing organisations such as NGOs, governments or multilaterals.
Required skills
- Cost modelling and sensitivity analysis.
- Statistical software (Stata or R).
- Advanced Excel.
