Group Financial Officer

About the role

The Group Financial Officer will join the executive leadership team of a fast‑growing Zambian conglomerate operating in hardware retail, hospitality and copper processing. Reporting to the Group CEO, the GFO will provide strategic financial direction across all business units and drive value‑creation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the Group’s financial strategy, planning and performance management.
• Oversee consolidated financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Lead profitability improvement, cost‑optimization and growth projects.
• Strengthen internal controls, compliance and governance frameworks.
• Drive ERP and accounting system enhancements and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and develop finance teams across the Group’s companies.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, CA (Sri Lanka, Zambia or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years audit experience and at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting and business analysis.
• Experience managing multi‑company or group operations is an advantage.
• Commercially minded with excellent analytical, communication and decision‑making abilities.
