IT Audit Semi-Senior

About the role

The IT Audit Semi‑Senior will support and execute technology‑focused audits, evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of IT controls, cybersecurity practices, data integrity measures and governance frameworks. Working under minimal supervision, the role leads parts of engagements and mentors junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing audit objectives, scopes and work programmes for IT audits.
• Perform preliminary assessments of IT environments, including general IT controls, application controls and cybersecurity risks.
• Conduct fieldwork to test access controls, change management, backup and recovery, network security and ERP application controls.
• Prepare working papers, draft observation reports and present findings to management.
• Track remediation of audit issues and contribute to continuous monitoring activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in IT auditing, IT risk or cybersecurity.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CEH, CompTIA Security+ or ISO 27001 are advantageous.
• Strong analytical, communication and documentation skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of IT General Controls (ITGCs) and IT Application Controls (ITACs).
• Knowledge of networking, databases, Windows and Linux operating systems, and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, vulnerability assessment and threat landscapes.
• Experience auditing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Ability to use data‑analytics tools such as ACL/Arbutus, IDEA, Power BI or SQL.
