Management Accountant – Hotels & Lodge

About the role

The Management Accountant will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for Mika Hotels' convention centre and lodge operations. You will monitor production costs, manage budgets, and provide analysis that supports strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounting reports, financial statements and production cost analyses.
• Track weekly production variances, post them in Sage and present variance reports to management.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor monthly expenditures against budget.
• Provide monthly forecasts, re‑forecast when needed and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, oversee acquisitions, disposals and depreciation.
• Control operational expenditures (OPEX) and work with department heads to curb overspending.
• Review stock‑on‑hand reports, post inventory movements in the ERP system and conduct periodic stock audits.
• Analyse new business opportunities and support pricing reviews to protect gross profit margins.

Required profile

• Strong background in management accounting, preferably within hospitality or similar industries.
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and variance analyses.
• Good understanding of fixed‑asset accounting and inventory control.
• Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non‑financial managers.
