Multi-Purpose Driver

About the role

First Quantum is seeking a Multi-Purpose Driver to operate and maintain a range of vehicles and lifting equipment, including cranes, forklifts, and light trucks. The role ensures safe, efficient movement of equipment and materials across the site while upholding the company’s safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine mobile equipment and vehicle inspections and complete check‑log books.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment in clean, road‑worthy condition.
• Log trips and operations accurately.
• Load and unload trucks using a forklift, ensuring goods are handled and stored safely.
• Control and monitor safe operation of all equipment and vehicles.
• Stack and retrieve goods at designated locations in a safe manner.
• Keep equipment interiors and exteriors clean.
• Secure loads correctly and perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 Certificate.
• Valid SADC Class C driver’s licence.
• Certificate in mobile crane operations (preferred).
• At least 3 years of experience as a qualified Multi‑Purpose Driver.
• Experience with mobile cranes, forklifts, low‑bed trailers and tractors is an advantage.
• Demonstrated teamwork, initiative, safety awareness and quality focus.
