Senior People Leader – Zambia

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking a Senior People Leader to own the People function for its Zambia pilot program. Reporting to the Deputy Country Manager and partnering with the COO, you will shape and execute a comprehensive People strategy that supports a rapidly scaling team of over 200 staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of Zambia’s People strategy, aligning with overall business objectives.
• Provide senior HR partnership to the COO and country leadership, ensuring strong HR operations, people systems, and staff support across headquarters and field teams.
• Identify and address organisational and people challenges proactively to remove barriers to growth and performance.
• Develop and deliver learning and development programmes, including workshops, bootcamps, coaching, onboarding and repeatable learning tools.
• Collaborate with Field, Impact and Global teams to improve learning outcomes and consistency of execution.
• Enhance core people systems such as onboarding, career pathing, feedback loops and staff development processes to boost engagement and retention.
• Foster a high‑performing, healthy team culture through sustainable staff experience initiatives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level HR professional with experience leading People functions in fast‑growing organisations.
• Proven ability to act as a strategic partner to senior leadership.
• Demonstrated experience designing and executing learning and development strategies.
• Strong track record of building internal talent pipelines and mentoring HR talent.
• Experience supporting both headquarters and field teams in a multi‑site environment.
