About the role
Join UNICEF's Social Policy section in Lusaka as a Social Policy Intern, supporting the Public Finance Management team. You will help build an internal online dashboard that tracks child wellbeing and social sector financing, providing vital data for programme planning and advocacy.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and populate a user‑friendly dashboard on child wellbeing and public finance.
- Compile, clean, and organise data from national surveys and budget documents.
- Visualise data using Power BI to support UNICEF’s advocacy and engagement with government and partners.
- Ensure data consistency, document sources clearly, and keep the dashboard up‑to‑date.
Required profile
- Graduated within the last two years with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in data analytics, statistics, economics, public finance, public policy, demography, research methods, data science, information systems or a related field.
- Strong academic performance and proficiency in English (local language a plus).
- Excellent communication, research and organisational abilities.
- No immediate relatives working for UNICEF or in the reporting line.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using data‑visualisation tools, preferably Power BI.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
