Technical Advisor – Mining Services

About the role

Metso is seeking a Technical Advisor to join its Services team in Solwezi, Zambia. You will act as a trusted partner to customers, driving operational performance and equipment reliability across mining and concentrator operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight for Metso equipment such as crushers, screens, pumps, grinding mills, flotation equipment and thickeners.
• Identify, develop and implement improvements to equipment performance, reliability and service delivery.
• Develop and support preventive and corrective maintenance strategies aligned with OEM recommendations.
• Lead root‑cause investigations, support breakdown resolution and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Advise on capital projects, engineering upgrades and present business cases to customer leadership.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including sales, technical support, field services and project management.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with safety, operational and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mining or concentrator operations with a focus on equipment reliability.
• Strong engineering background able to oversee complex plant equipment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to lead investigations.
• Effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
