About the role

The Mechanical Backend Technical Coach will develop and mentor artisans at the FQM‑Kansanshi Process Plant, raising technical competence and fostering a culture of high‑quality work and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑the‑job coaching and formal training modules tailored to the Backend sections of the engineering department.
• Role‑model best practices and create a continuous learning environment using coaching methodologies.
• Use effective listening, assertiveness and questioning to support learners in meeting assessment criteria.
• Champion quality and safety on the shop floor, providing visible leadership.
• Identify skill gaps through assessments and observations, design interventions, and track their impact.
• Identify high‑potential artisans for senior‑role progression and support their development.
• Design and complete assessments against the FQM Proficiency Framework and act as an independent assessor when required.
• Record interventions, actions, and progress using the company’s learning management tools.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of coaching initiatives.
