Volunteer Accountant for Charity in Zambia

About the role

We are seeking a volunteer accountant to support a Zambian charity that uses football to empower over 2,200 children. The assignment lasts up to four weeks and focuses on strengthening the organisation’s financial management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review the current QuickBooks setup, correct any accounting errors and optimise its use.
• Conduct and update bank reconciliations, including historic statements.
• Lead the consolidation of the three entity accounts to provide a unified financial picture.
• Develop templates and tools that enable staff to maintain the process independently.
• Coach project officers on record‑keeping, budgeting and reporting best practices.
• Assess the existing grant‑management system and recommend improvements for accurate grant reporting.

Required profile

• Qualified accounting professional with experience in non‑profit finance.
• Comfortable working in an international development context.
• Willingness to volunteer time and share expertise.
