Accountant – Financial Management & Reporting

About the role

The Accountant will oversee the financial operations of Industrial Resources Limited, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance and robust internal controls. This role supports strategic financial planning to enhance operational efficiency and profitability within the mining sector.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and forecasts.
• Maintain the general ledger, perform reconciliations and ensure correct expense allocations.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and monitor budget performance, analysing variances.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and statutory reporting, including VAT, PAYE, corporate tax and contributions to NAPSA, NHIMA and Workers’ Compensation.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing required documentation and responding to queries.
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls and identify financial risks.
• Plan cash flow and manage treasury activities to maintain operational liquidity.

Required profile

• Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., B.Com, ACCA, CPA) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in financial management, reporting and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of Zambian tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Attention to detail with ability to analyse financial data and identify variances.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with tax authorities, auditors and internal stakeholders.
