Analyst - Budgeting

About the role

We are seeking a Budget Analyst to join our global team dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children. The role will support the preparation, monitoring and reporting of budgets across programmes, grants and organisational units, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee NO support cost budgets, Area Program budgets and grant/project budgets in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Consolidate budget inputs, ensure alignment with strategic priorities and donor requirements, and support budget narratives for internal and external stakeholders.
• Upload and validate budget data in Horizon, Impaq and Sun System, manage Labor Distribution Reports (LDRs) and related journal entries, and maintain documentation for audit purposes.
• Monitor PBAS commitments, review reports for variances, reconcile PBAS data with Horizon and other systems, and assist senior analysts with status updates for management and donors.
• Implement cost allocation methodologies at the National Office level, prepare allocation schedules, and liaise with program teams to validate bases.
• Track cost recovery performance, monitor Support Cost Reallocation (SCR) ratios, and prepare SCR analysis reports for management decision‑making.

Required profile

• First degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA is an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial reporting or related finance functions.
• Strong knowledge of donor‑funded budgeting processes and financial systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Horizon, Impaq and Sun System financial platforms.
• Experience managing Labor Distribution Reports (LDRs) and related journal entries.
• Familiarity with the Planning, Budgeting and Accountability System (PBAS).
• Ability to apply cost allocation methodologies and perform SCR analysis.
