Boilermaker (M/F)

About the role

Zalawi Haulage Limited, a Zambian road haulage company based in Chingola and part of the MSC Group, is looking for experienced boilermakers to maintain its trucks and trailers. The post is a full-time fixed-term contract and involves cutting, shaping and welding metal products on structures for horse and trailer repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all trucks in the workshop for cracks.
• Check rubbing plates and wear plates for wear.
• Check the cabin floor for rust or rotten components and report and repair them.
• Weld aluminium tanks and weld cracks, reinforcing trailers and horse chassis.
• Carry out preventive and corrective welding on trucks and trailers, and welding work for workshops or other departments.
• Ensure OHSE rules are followed and the working area is safe.
• Report problems or delays to the supervisor and keep tools and equipment in good condition.

Required profile

• Full Grade 12 certificate.
• Craft certificate in Metal Fabrication or its equivalent.
• Technical skills in a similar working environment.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar environment.
