Technical Specialist – Process Plant Reliability

About the role

First Quantum is seeking a Technical Specialist to lead reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement activities for its High Pressure Leach, Oxygen and Acid plants in Solwezi.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to maintenance and operations teams to improve plant reliability and reduce operating costs.
• Manage daily maintenance work priorities, investigate equipment failures, and lead root‑cause analysis.
• Plan, execute and monitor plant shutdowns, modifications and upgrades in collaboration with engineering disciplines.
• Develop performance specifications and key performance indicators for equipment reliability.
• Liaise with OEMs and consultants to resolve failures, installations and modifications.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia and the Engineering Registration Board.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mining plant maintenance.
• Strong communication, leadership and time‑management abilities.
