Instrumentation Artisan for Mining Plant

About the role

The Artisan Instrumentation will install, test and commission field instrumentation at Kansanshi Mining's smelter plant, ensuring safety and minimal disruption to production.

Key responsibilities

• Install new instrumentation equipment following company and vendor safety and quality standards.
• Perform testing, calibration and commissioning of devices, ensuring correct PLC and SCADA integration.
• Maintain accurate parameter settings in PLC and SCADA for HMI display.
• Support preventive maintenance schedules and adhere to health, safety, environment and quality policies.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 / equivalent and qualified Instrumentation Technician registered with EIZ.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience as an Instrumentation Technician.
• Ability to work overtime, at heights and in confined spaces while maintaining safety awareness.

Required skills

• DCS and SCADA systems experience, preferably Citect SCADA.
• PLC programming and hardware knowledge, preferably Siemens S7 series.
• Field Bus systems knowledge (Profibus, Modbus) and Ethernet networking.
• Experience with Siemens light‑voltage control, Siemens SIMO code systems and IGBT‑controlled PWM variable speed drives.
