Driver – Field Office Transportation (Mantapala, Zambia)

About the role

Action Against Hunger USA is seeking a reliable Driver to provide transportation services for its field office in Mantapala, Luapula Province. The role ensures safe, efficient movement of staff, visitors, and cargo while supporting the organization’s humanitarian mission.

Key responsibilities

• Drive program vehicles as directed by the coordinator, adhering to traffic rules and road discipline.
• Transport staff, visitors, parcels, letters and other items to designated locations.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, including checking oil, fuel, brakes, lights, windshield wipers, tire pressure and reporting any issues.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation such as insurance, road licence and vehicle service records.
• Keep the vehicle clean and ensure it is used only for authorized official business.
• Report accidents, incidents or vehicle defects promptly and assist the supervisor with service planning.

Required profile

• Advanced Driving Certificate.
• Ability to conduct routine vehicle checks and minor repairs.
• Strong sense of responsibility for passenger and cargo safety.
• Good record‑keeping skills for maintenance and incident reports.
