Exploration Manager / General Operations Manager (Mining)

About the role

The Exploration Manager / General Operations Manager will lead the mining exploration business in Zambia, overseeing field teams, strategic reporting and day‑to‑day operational excellence. This senior position combines technical geology expertise with strong commercial and safety focus.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all exploration activities across Zambia, including remote field operations.
• Develop and manage annual exploration budgets, operational plans and resource allocation.
• Oversee contractor selection, procurement, and contract performance to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Manage logistics for remote sites – equipment, accommodation, transport and supply chain.
• Present strategic updates to executives and the Board, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
• Build and maintain a high‑performing multidisciplinary team and external partners.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in mineral exploration or mining, with large‑scale program management.
• Proven leadership as Exploration Manager, Operations Manager or General Manager.
• Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Mining Engineering or related field; professional institute membership preferred.
• Experience in alluvial and/or gold operations.

• Geological modelling and resource development.
• Wash‑plant operations and understanding.
• Proficiency with exploration software and data‑management systems.
• Preparation of technical reports and senior‑level presentations.
