Finance and Grants Officer

About the role

The Finance and Grants Officer will manage daily financial transactions and budget processes for Action Against Hunger Zambia, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational, donor, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Prepare and submit timely accountancy bundles and budget financial updates (BFUs) to the Support Services Manager.
• Collaborate with Program Managers and logistics teams to ensure adherence to procurement and internal control policies.
• Record monthly commitments, recharges, and analytical entries.
• Verify bankbooks and perform bank reconciliations before the 5th of each month.
• Set up budgets and accounting parameters in line with IFRS, internal policies, and Zambian government regulations.
• Disseminate accounting procedures and promote high standards of integrity and accountability across staff.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior management, program staff, and logistics teams.
• Understanding of donor guidelines, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• High integrity and accountability in handling organizational resources.

Required skills

• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
