Finance Manager

About the role

A leading manufacturing company in the packaging and plastics sector is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead all financial operations, ensure statutory compliance, and provide strategic financial guidance to support growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust financial management systems, policies and procedures.
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and financial statements in line with IFRS.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting obligations (ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, etc.).
• Oversee cash‑flow management, budgeting, forecasting and cost‑control initiatives.
• Monitor working capital, including accounts receivable, payable and inventory valuation.
• Lead internal and external audit processes and submit audit reports on time.
• Provide strategic advice on financial planning, investment and risk management.
• Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
• Coordinate with production and procurement teams for effective cost tracking.
• Maintain relationships with banks, auditors and other financial institutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Full membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) – mandatory.
• 7–10 years of financial management experience, preferably in manufacturing, packaging or plastics.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Zambian tax laws and financial regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, leadership and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, Pastel or QuickBooks.
• Hands‑on experience applying IFRS standards.
