Head of Primary – School Leadership Role

About the role

Pebbles College, an international school in Lusaka, is seeking a dynamic Head of Primary to lead its primary section. This full‑time, hybrid position combines on‑site leadership with flexible planning time, ensuring high‑quality teaching and a supportive learning environment for young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the primary section, including curriculum delivery and assessment.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate primary teachers through lesson observations and professional‑development programmes.
• Collaborate with senior school leadership to design and refine academic programmes aligned with international standards.
• Monitor student progress, manage timetables and produce accurate reporting.
• Coordinate with parents, guardians and external stakeholders on student welfare, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and the school’s inclusive culture.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a primary or elementary school, preferably in an international or multicultural setting.
• Strong background in classroom teaching with effective behaviour management and inclusive practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging students, families and staff.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education; postgraduate qualification in Educational Leadership is an advantage.
• Commitment to student wellbeing, safeguarding and a positive school culture.
