Head of Transactional Banking – Business Banking

About the role

The Head of Transactional Banking for Business Banking in Zambia will lead the Cash Management product suite, including electronic banking, for a diverse portfolio of commercial, agricultural, SME and enterprise clients. Reporting to the Business Banking Director, you will shape strategy, drive revenue and ensure seamless collaboration with relationship managers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and manage cash products and services across all Business Banking segments.
• Set team objectives and revenue targets in partnership with the Business Banking Director.
• Provide guidance, training and support to product managers and act as a catalyst for relationship managers to increase product uptake.
• Lead product innovation to position Absa as a leading cash‑management bank.
• Collaborate closely with relationship teams to meet cross‑selling and sales targets.
• Serve as the specialist point of contact for senior leadership on cash‑management issues.
• Formulate cash‑business strategy, drive deposit growth and manage wholesale liquidity in coordination with Treasury.
• Oversee pricing of cash products and participate in the pricing committee.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in cash management or transactional banking.
• Strong track record of achieving revenue and market‑share growth.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence senior executives.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high‑quality service.
• Ability to manage risk‑adjusted portfolio performance.
