About the role
The Mine Geologist will lead geological core operations and technical functions within the mine geology team, ensuring high‑quality geological data for resource, ore control and model development.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct ore delineation, reverse circulation grade control planning, execution, supervision and sampling to best practice and QA/QC standards.
- Undertake in‑pit mapping, 3D interpretation and integration of geological and sampling data to create comprehensive models.
- Manage and lead the mine geology reporting support teams, ensuring quality, standards and efficient database management.
- Liaise continuously with mining operations, engineering, processing, geotechnical and hydro‑geological teams to align benefits with business objectives.
Required profile
- At least 3 years of mining industry experience, preferably in open‑pit copper or nickel production.
- Practical field experience in ore control, diamond drilling, reverse circulation drilling and pit mapping.
- Recognised degree in Geoscience and a full clean manual class B SADC driver’s licence.
Required skills
- Familiarity with Datamine, OreController, Datashed, Snowden supervisor or similar software.
- Strong data analytical abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including report writing.
