Plant Director – Cement Manufacturing (Expatriate)

About the role

The Plant Director will lead the full spectrum of operations for a cement manufacturing facility in Zambia. Reporting to senior executive leadership, the role is responsible for delivering safe, reliable and cost‑effective production while aligning with the Group’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all plant operations, including production, mining, maintenance, engineering, procurement, logistics and distribution.
• Achieve production, quality, cost and efficiency targets and drive continuous‑improvement and industrial‑excellence programmes.
• Monitor performance through KPIs, benchmarking tools and Group standards; optimise asset, energy and raw‑material utilisation.
• Ensure strict health, safety and environmental compliance and promote a strong HSE culture.
• Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets, control costs and monitor profitability.
• Lead, coach and develop a multicultural workforce, oversee succession planning, training and employee engagement.
• Foster a customer‑focused operational culture and ensure delivery performance meets market demand.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Significant senior‑level experience managing large industrial plants, preferably in cement or related sectors.
• Proven track record in leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering operational excellence.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
