Senior Risk Officer

About the role

The Senior Risk Officer will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Authority's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework. Reporting to the Audit & Risk Manager, this middle‑management position supports senior executives by providing clear risk insights for strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the rollout of risk processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report risks.
• Provide concise risk information, advice and reports to the Executive team.
• Drive ERM culture across the Authority, ensuring consistent practice at strategic and operational levels.
• Maintain accessible ERM systems and processes for all staff.
• Organise ERM training and development programmes.
• Develop and maintain a risk reporting framework for regular advisory and reporting of key risks.
• Support staff with ERM obligations, offering advice and tools for compliance.
• Implement communication mechanisms and information systems for ERM.
• Establish a monitoring system to track ERM activities and recommend further actions.
• Assess risk registers and treatment plans for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare risk reports as required.

Required profile

• Grade 12 School Certificate with five O‑Levels (including Mathematics and English).
• Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification (ZICA, CIMA, ACCA, CISA, CIA).
• Certified Risk Analyst or equivalent risk‑management certificate is an advantage.
• Member of a professional body such as IIA, ZICA, ACCA, CIMA, CISA or IRM.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in risk, audit or related fields.
