Country Manager

About the role

The Group is seeking a high‑calibre Country Manager to lead its multi‑business portfolio in Zambia. This senior, site‑based position reports directly to the Group Director and carries full accountability for strategy, operations and financial performance across all local entities.

Key responsibilities

• Own the consolidated in‑country P&L, ensuring strict governance, audit readiness and full compliance with ZRA tax obligations.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in fuel management, cargo handling and staging operations to achieve efficient turnaround times and zero demurrage.
• Identify and develop new mining client relationships and supplier partnerships to expand fuel supply and procurement services.
• Direct procurement and commissioning of critical infrastructure such as fuel laboratories and weighbridge equipment.
• Maintain a zero‑harm HSE environment across all mine sites and manage the full HR function to ensure a compliant, engaged workforce.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Engineering; professional finance designation (CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) highly desirable.
• 8‑10 years of senior management experience, including at least 3 years as a Country or General Manager.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a mining environment with strong logistics and supply‑chain exposure.
• Proven track record working in Zambia or Sub‑Saharan Africa and deep knowledge of local statutory and labour regulations.
