Biodiversity Finance Analyst - Public and Financial Sector

About the role
The Biodiversity Finance Analyst will support the implementation of Zambia's Biodiversity Finance Plan, focusing on public and private finance solutions that drive nature‑positive outcomes. Working within the UNDP Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN), the analyst will collaborate closely with the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment and the Ministry of Finance.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the rollout of priority finance solutions identified in the Biodiversity Finance Plan.
- Support the development and operationalisation of Zambia’s Green Finance Taxonomy, including tagging and reporting frameworks for the financial sector.
- Conduct analysis of public and private financing mechanisms for biodiversity conservation.
- Coordinate with government ministries, private‑sector partners and UNDP teams to ensure alignment of finance initiatives.
- Prepare analytical reports, policy briefs and data visualisations for stakeholders.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in finance, economics, environmental studies or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of relevant work experience.
- Fluent English (reading, writing and speaking).
- Demonstrated interest in biodiversity, climate finance or green economy initiatives.
