Environmental Engineer - Management Trainee

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time, on‑site Environmental Engineer – Management Trainee to join our Kitwe office. The successful candidate will assist in monitoring environmental management systems while gaining hands‑on experience across a range of sustainability projects. Working under senior engineers, the trainee will develop practical skills in environmental assessment, regulatory compliance and project planning.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining environmental management systems.
• Conduct environmental assessments and support compliance with local regulations.
• Contribute to the development of sustainable initiatives and project planning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on engineering projects.
• Provide hands‑on support using environmental monitoring equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Strong foundation in environmental assessment and sustainability practices.
• Proficiency in data analysis, problem‑solving and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and environmental standards.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
• Internship or project experience in environmental management is a plus.
