Finance and Grants Officer

About the role

The Finance and Grants Officer will manage daily financial transactions and grant administration for Action Against Hunger Zambia. Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the role ensures accurate budgeting, compliance with donor and internal policies, and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day financial transactions and manage budgets for ACF‑Zambia.
• Prepare and submit accurate accountancy bundles and budget financial updates (BFUs) on schedule.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, IFRS, donor guidelines, and Zambian government regulations.
• Collaborate with program managers, logistics, and administration teams on procurement and internal controls.
• Record monthly commitments, perform bank reconciliations before the 5th of each month, and verify bankbooks.
• Set up budgets and accounting parameters, and disseminate accounting procedures to staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance and grants management within an NGO or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, donor policies, and government financial regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program, logistics, and administration teams.
• Attention to detail and high standards of integrity and accountability.
