Finance and Grants Officer

About the role

The Finance and Grants Officer will manage day-to-day financial transactions and grant administration for Action Against Hunger’s Zambia operations, ensuring accurate budgeting, reporting and compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record all financial transactions, including payments, receipts and recharges.
• Prepare, review and submit accurate accountancy bundles and budget forecasts (BFUs) on schedule.
• Maintain bank books, perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify cash balances before the 5th of each month.
• Monitor commitments, budget utilization and analytical entries to ensure compliance with internal policies, IFRS and Zambian regulations.
• Collaborate with the Support Services Manager, Program Managers and logistics team to align financial procedures with procurement policies.
• Disseminate accounting procedures and internal control guidelines to staff across country offices.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of financial management in a nonprofit or humanitarian context.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and maintain high standards of integrity.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
