Finance and Grants Officer

About the role

The Finance and Grants Officer will manage daily financial transactions and budgeting for Action Against Hunger’s Zambia operations, ensuring compliance with organizational, donor and government policies.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day financial transactions and manage budgets, guaranteeing data accuracy.
• Prepare and submit accurate accountancy bundles on schedule.
• Collaborate with the Support Services Manager, Program Managers and logistics teams to align on budget methodologies, internal controls and procurement procedures.
• Disseminate accounting procedures and ensure staff awareness of policies.
• Record monthly commitments, recharges and analytical entries.
• Verify bankbooks and perform bank reconciliations before the 5th of each month.
• Set up budgets and other accounting parameters in line with IFRS and Zambian regulations.
• Promote high standards of integrity and accountability in resource utilization.

Required profile

• Experience in finance or grants management within an NGO or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of donor policies, internal control policies and procurement guidelines.
• Familiarity with IFRS and Zambian government financial regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal teams.
