Head of Audit – Zambia

About the role

The Head of Audit – Zambia will lead internal audit activities across the country, ensuring robust risk and control environments in line with Citi’s global standards. Reporting to senior country leadership, the role combines audit execution, regulatory liaison and governance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and contribute to local governance forums such as the Country Coordinating Committee, communicating audit activities to senior management.
• Provide timely information to the Audit Committee and local Board on internal audit findings.
• Represent Citi Internal Audit in discussions with regulators and deliver on regulatory commitments.
• Plan and execute both international and local audits using Citi’s Internal Audit Methodology.
• Supervise audit teams, ensure audits are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with global requirements.
• Analyse regulatory landscape, tailor audit scopes, draft reports and present findings to management.
• Track emerging issues through business monitoring and ensure regulatory reporting deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and management information teams to address findings and analyse audit data.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in banking.
• At least 2 years in senior management and 5 years in a senior audit or risk role.
• Proven ability to interact with senior executives, regulators and board members.
• Strong analytical rigor, problem‑solving mindset and proactive communication style.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
