Medical Imaging Specialist

About the role

The Medical Imaging Specialist will join Copperbelt University’s health services in Ndola, delivering high‑quality diagnostic imaging on a full‑time, on‑site basis. Working closely with physicians and other clinicians, you will ensure safe, accurate imaging that supports patient care and academic activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and optimise a range of diagnostic imaging procedures following clinical protocols.
• Operate imaging equipment safely, adhering to radiation protection and infection‑control standards.
• Prepare, position and explain procedures to patients, monitoring their safety and comfort.
• Maintain detailed patient and imaging records, including quality‑assurance documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support accurate diagnosis and student learning.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and quality‑assurance activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Medical Imaging, Radiography, Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Certification or eligibility for registration with a recognised professional body (e.g., ARRT or national equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology and clinical indications for imaging studies.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care and effective communication with diverse populations.
• Ability to work collaboratively, manage time efficiently and maintain accurate documentation.
